The Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Urology to join our dynamic team at HNZ Counties Manukau.

This is a senior nursing role providing expert clinical leadership, advanced patient care, and specialist support for Urology services across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.As a CNS, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless, patient- and whaanau centred care, while promoting evidence-based best practice and innovation in service delivery.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, contribute to regional integration initiatives, and lead nursing practice development in the specialty.Key responsibilities:Provide expert clinical assessment, treatment, education, and case management for complex Urology patients.Undertake and support a range of urological procedures (e.g.

catheterisation, cystoscopy, bladder instillations, prostate biopsy, urodynamic studies).Lead service improvements by developing policies, pathways, and innovative approaches to care.Actively mentor, coach, and educate nursing staff across Urology services.Monitor patient flow and collaborate with teams to address service delays.Drive health equity initiatives, particularly supporting Māori and Pacific health outcomes.Contribute to quality improvement, clinical audits, and research activities.Build strong partnerships with patients, whaanau, regional urology services, GPs, and allied health providers.Why Join Us?Be part of a specialist urology team making a real difference for patients and whaanau.Opportunity to shape and lead clinical practice across the region.Access to professional development, education, and research opportunities.Work in a supportive environment where innovation and collaboration are valued.Play a key role in advancing Māori and Pacific health equity in our community.About You:NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate5+ years surgical nursing experience in NZ (post registration)Recent urology nursing experienceRelevant post graduate qualification completed or near completionFunctioning at Proficient or Expert level on the PDRPExcellent communication skillsIf you are ready to step into an advanced practice role and lead the future of Urology nursing, we would love to hear from you.
