Tour Guide - Educator

At Te Wharewaka o Poneke the tour educator role has been created to provide cultural education and engagement by sharing matauranga Maori with our international and domestic visitors and students involved with ELC experiences.
This role is a wonderful opportunity to expand your matauranga maori and reo along with many opportunities to work in the rewarding and exciting education and tourism industries. Working with a passionate and knowledgeable team you will be well supported to excel in this role.
You may have a passion for maori cultural practices, waka, whakairo, kapa haka waiata and reo, which will greatly enhance the experience of our guests and be a valuable asset.

- Delivering guided walking tours
- Delivering guided waka tours
- Providing curriculum education resources to schools & students

- Ability to speak confidently to our guests
- Experience performing Kapa haka and Waiata, Reo maori
- Punctual, trustworthy and great communicator
- Sales skills would be beneficial
- Drivers License
Hours:
- We operate Monday to Friday through winter and 7 days throughout the summer months
- The role is full time and we are looking for people with good availability across the week and weekend
Other key information:
- We work with students so appropriate screening processes are required of applicants
- Successful applicants require a satisfactory Ministry of Justice Criminal Convictions check.
- Must be eligible to work in New Zealand
