About the RoleAs a District Nurse in the Mid North area, you will be part of our community clinical services working across the Mid North area. The primary functions of this role include working to meet the needs of patients and their family/whānau using contemporary nursing care, which is safe, appropriate and effective.
The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is patient/client centred, culturally sensitive and evidence -based.Care will be provided in the community, either at the patient's place of residence, community clinics, or other suitable environments as mutually agreed with the patient.
This role will require travel across the Mid North area.About the Team/Service/LocationThe Community Clinical Services in the Mid North area work across four locations based in Kawakawa, Kerikeri, Kaeo and Kaikohe, caring for patients and their whanau in the community.

Good communication skills is a must, with the ability to build relationships across all age groups.Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practicing CertificateMinimum one year post basic experience or recent primary health experienceCurrent Full NZ driver's licenceProficient computer skillsCompetency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
