Lodge Assistant
Nestled deep in the heart of Pureora Forest, Timber Trail Lodge sits at the halfway point of the renowned Timber Trail – one of New Zealand’s Great Rides. Just an hour’s drive from both Te Kuiti and Taumarunui, the lodge offers a unique off-grid experience to cyclists, hikers, and adventurers exploring this stunning part of the country.
We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic and capable Lodge Assistants to join our team. These roles are ideal for those with a strong work ethic, a passion for hospitality, and a love of the outdoors. We have fixed-term seasonal positions available, with options for both live-in and commuting (local) team members.Couples are welcome to apply.
About the Role- Lodge Assistants are involved in all aspects of lodge operations, including:
- Front of house and guest services
- Bar and dining service
- Kitchen and food preparation
- Housekeeping and general cleaning
We provide full training and a thorough induction, so you'll feel confident and supported in all areas of your role. You'll be joining a friendly, hard working and close-knit team.
What We’re Looking For- We’re seeking team members who are:
- Reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused
- Friendly and adaptable, with great communication skills
- Comfortable working on a rotating roster (including weekends and evenings)
- Physically capable and willing to help where needed
- Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) or prior bar manager certification
- Kitchen/catering experience or relevant hospitality qualifications
- Housekeeping, food service, or general lodge/hotel experience
- Due to our remote location, having your own transport is strongly recommended for those not living on-site.
- You will need New Zealand working status.
- Comfortable on-site accommodation including a lounge.
- Competitive hourly wage.
