A varied role with a unique view of the public sector
- One-year fixed term The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake aims to improve trust and confidence in public services by giving New Zealanders an independent view of government spending and performance.
Performance audits aren't about financial reporting
- instead, they investigate issues that are important to New Zealanders.
At the moment we're looking at a range of topics including flood resilience, housing, and how the government works with Māori.
You can read more about our work programme in our annual plan: oag.parliament.nz/2025/annual-planWe're looking for a Performance Auditor to join us for a one-year fixed term or secondment.In this role, you'll work with the team to help write reports on behalf of the Auditor-General.
From day to day you could be carrying out fieldwork in different parts of the country, analysing large amounts of information, or interviewing people from a wide range of organisations, from frontline public servants to politicians.
It's a challenging and varied role that gives you a unique view of the public sector.
