We have a workshop that is fully equipped with all machinery and equipment (including truck and utility hoists) to support our servicing, wheel alignment and hydraulic needs.
Health and Safety is important to us, along with operating the Safer Me App, we provide all PPE requirements for our team, hold daily toolbox meetings and roster scheduled checks of all vehicles, equipment and plant.
With a loyal, long-standing customer base, we work on all types of heavy vehicles and machinery, so no two days are the same. We are now looking for another mechanic to join our team.
The successful applicant could be a fully qualified mechanic, or a senior mechanic with 5-10 years’ experience. Consideration will be given to each applicant and what that person could bring to the team.
As we are a close team, having the right attitude, pride in workmanship and a good sense of humour is a must.
This role is a full-time, permanent role that works Monday to Friday (7.00am to 5.00pm) and rostered approximately two Saturdays a month (7.00am to 12.00pm). Depending on the experience of the successful applicant, they will also be part of a rolling on-call roster and have a company vehicle.
What we are looking for:
- Someone committed to being a part of our team and the success of our business
- Is self-motivated, positive, energetic and has an outstanding work ethic
- Is a good communicator, building lasting relationships with team and customers alike
- Hold a full Class 2 NZ drivers license (Class 4 or 5 would be an advantage, but we can assist with this)
- Qualified and experienced with trucks and other heavy vehicles and machinery, parts and systems
- Fabrication and/or welding skills (not essential but would be an advantage)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and be prepared for random testing as required
- Must be a NZ resident
What we can offer you:
- Standard hours Monday to Friday (7.00am to 5.00pm) at competitive hourly rates
- Time and a half (T1.5) penal rates apply outside of standard hours including all Saturday hours (7.00am to 2.00pm)
- Rather than two short tea breaks and lunch, as a team we have opted for two 30-minute breaks each day
- An on-call allowance applies if asked to cover after hours’ callouts
- Any call outs paid, you will receive a call out fee as well as paid at T1.5 penal rates and minimum hours applied
- Hourly tool allowance is paid for every standard hour worked (Monday to Friday)
