About the Role: As a Security Coordinator you will be responsible for the management and coordination for all aspects of hospital security, ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors through effective leadership, risk management, and incident response.

About the Team:The security staff form part of the Attendants, Fleet, Security and Parking department.The Attendant department currently employs around 120 staff working a 24 hour 7 day a week basis the Security and Parking operation is also a 24 hour, 7 day operation, utilising a group of contract staff of around 60 staff.

About you:To succeed in this role, you will bring:Proven experience in security coordination or management, ideally within healthcare, public service, or large organizational environmentsStrong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop security personnelExcellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, enabling effective interaction with staff, patients, visitors, and external stakeholdersIn-depth knowledge of security systems, health & safety standards, and relevant legislation, including emergency response proceduresAbility to remain calm under pressure and make quick, informed decisions in emergency situationsRelevant qualifications or certifications in security management or related fields are highly desirable Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
