Freedom Companion Driving Services is looking for a kind, reliable local person to help clients get to medical appointments, shopping, social outings and other important trips.
This is not ordinary driving work. Our clients may be older, recovering from illness or injury, living with a disability or simply needing a little extra support. You will provide safe, friendly, door-to-door assistance and help people stay independent and connected.
This role may suit a semi-retired person, former nurse, caregiver, teacher aide, school transport driver, community volunteer or someone who enjoys and has a background in working with people.
The right person will:
- have a full NZ driver’s licence with a P endorsement, a clean driving record and a safe, calm and patient driving style
- be reasonably fit and able to assist clients with mobility challenges or disabilities
- enjoy helping older people, people with disabilities, children or people needing extra support
- have a pleasant, friendly manner and good communication and social skills
- be available for weekend work when required
- hold a current First Aid Certificate and preferably Total Mobility or other disability support certification
- be ready to complete a police check
We offer a minimum of 30 hours' work per week.
