Fabricator Welder – Structural Steel Manufacturing

C&R Engineering is a leading structural steel fabrication business in Palmerston North supplying fabricated steelwork to the commercial & residential construction sectors.
Key Responsibilities:- Fabricate and weld structural steel components to specification
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering and fabrication drawings
- Operate fabrication equipment including bandsaws, drills, and overhead cranes
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards (AS/NZS 1554)
- Collaborate with workshop supervisors and site teams to meet project deadlines
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication and welding
- Proficient in MIG welding (flux core and solid wire)
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings and welding symbols
- Experience with heavy steel sections and workshop fabrication processes
- Relevant trade qualification or welding certifications (preferred)
- Overhead crane and forklift license (advantageous)
