Unregistered ECE Teacher | Busy Bees Whitby
Do you want to work in a centre where children are seen as taonga, whanau are welcomed in, and there is space for you to grow your own practice too? We are looking for anUnregistered Teacher to join our team part-time, and support tamariki as they explore, discover and build confidence in our beautiful, spacious environment.
About us:Busy Bees Whitby is a spacious, nature-rich centre where children are treated as taonga and you’re supported to grow alongside them. With large, well-resourced indoor and outdoor areas for under and over 2s, tamariki spend their days planting, exploring, moving and discovering with kaiako right beside them.
Separate age-based rooms, shared tuakana-teina spaces and thoughtful, readiness-based transitions mean you see real relationships and learning unfold, not just routines. We use Storypark to capture and share learning with whanau, Nourish menus and our Healthy Heart Award to keep tamariki fuelled and active, and strong pathways to preschool and kura so you can be part of every step in their journey.
It’s a place where your curiosity, energy and developing teaching skills are genuinely valued.
About you:You might be at the beginning of your ECE journey, studying towards a qualification, or bringing strong life experience and a passion for working with young children. Either way, you are warm, reliable and keen to learn. You enjoy getting down to the children’s level, following their lead and supporting play that is rich in conversation, curiosity and care.
You are a team player who communicates clearly, builds trusting relationships with tamariki and whanau, and is happy to pitch in wherever needed. An interest in Te Ao Maori, healthy lifestyles and outdoor learning will be an advantage.
As a valued member with us, we can assure you:- A generous teacher in training programme for those studying ECE!
- Discounted childcare, Annual flu vaccination, Staff uniforms
- A monthly staff wellbeing budget and access to EAP services
- A comprehensive induction programme, with regular mentoring and coaching and ongoing opportunities for career growth and personal and professional development
