About the Role
Gilchrist Brothers Ltd (GBL) is hiring a hands-on driver for an 8 month contract spray season (August to March) across North Canterbury. You'll operate custom-built Landcruisers fitted with Topcon autosteer GPS system and TracMap technology to carry out crop and pasture spraying work.Training begins in August ahead of the peak season. For the right person, extension or future work may be available.
Key Responsibilities- Operate spray equipment with precision and safety
- Drive 4WD manual and automatic vehicles; perform daily checks
- Mix chemicals accurately and follow pasture treatment instructions
- Uphold Health & Safety protocols during all activities
- Work rostered Saturdays during busy periods
- Support team operations and work independently as needed
- NZ Citizenship or Residency
- Full NZ driver licence with clean record
- Experience operating spray gear or farm machinery (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and a reliable work ethic
- Enjoy working outdoors in all conditions
- Livestock handling or mechanical skills (advantageous)
- Hourly rate, based on experience
- Comprehensive spraying and safety training
