Contribute to transforming the future of health in a rewarding leadership roleLocation: Te Manawa Taki Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the RoleWe have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our regional Te Manawa Taki team as Kaitātaki, Group Manager, Community and Whānau Wellbeing.The primary purpose of this role is to lead, in partnership with clinical and professional leaders, a team of teams to deliver public health services that focus on community and whānau wellbeing.
This includes health promotion and programmes/services that are aimed at preventing illness and promoting wellbeing.You are a member of the Regional Leadership Group and will lead a new way of working that is aligned with, and will deliver, Pae Ora.You will work alongside leadership to deliver the organisational priorities of Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, meeting performance requirements and to drive continuous improvement in processes and practices within the team.About the Team/Service/ LocationThe National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.About youYou are an experienced senior leader with proven experience of building capability and lifting performance of a multi-disciplinary team/unit.
You will be able to deliver on programmes of work in a complex environment and be involved in developing and implementing effective group strategies. You're comfortable with change and uncertainty and have proven relationships with iwi/hapū and/or Pacific communities and leaders.Skills and ExperienceA Bachelor's degree in an area relevant to health promotion, education, disease prevention, Māori or Pacific Health, community development, and/or public health or comparable/extensive experience working at a senior leadership levelSignificant experience in a senior level position with a wide span of control and leading leaders, including solid experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing teamsAble to think, plan and act strategically and to connect with and inspire people to build a highly motivated and engaged workforce5 years' experience in varied environments with responsibilities for achieving equitable health outcomes and responsive to Te Tiriti o WaitangiDemonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomesWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
