Shift Supervisor

Reports To: Store Manager

We are seeking a responsible and motivated Store Shift Supervisor to assist in managing daily store operations, lead team members during shifts, and ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused environment.

• Supervise and coordinate activities of retail sales staff during assigned shifts.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and store presentation.
• Open and close the store as per the rostered shift schedule.
• Assist in managing inventory levels, stock replenishment, and merchandising.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and licensing regulations, especially around alcohol sales.
• Provide on-the-job training and support to new or junior team members.
• Perform cash handling duties including reconciliations and banking.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets and operational goals.

• At Least one year experience in a similar role working in a retail liquor store.
• Proven ability to lead a small team effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good understanding of retail operations including stock control, merchandising, and cash handling.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally permitted to sell alcohol in New Zealand.
• A valid LCQ certificate and Manager’s Certificate (or willingness to obtain one) is advantageous.

• Rostered shifts including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
• Physical tasks including lifting, standing for extended periods, and stock handling.
