Position: Assistant Accountant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a vibrant and professional personality, exceptional organizational skills, and the technical competency to support compliance processes.

You will work closely with management, clients, and team members, providing critical support across a wide range of accounting functions.

Qualifications & Experience: Recent NZ Accounting qualification and/or currently working towards CA (ANZ) or CPA (Australia)

Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role

Must have the right to work in New Zealand

Key Requirements: Strong core knowledge of New Zealand Accounting and Taxation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Effective time-management and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
High level of interpersonal skills and client service focus
Strong commitment to meeting targets and deadlines
Technically savvy with hands-on experience in accounting/payroll software
Ambitious, career-focused, and passionate about excelling in your role
Strong attention to detail with high numerical accuracy

Quick learner with the ability to work independently

Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation of GST and FBT returns

Assist in the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses
Payroll processing
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Maintain the general ledger
Support day-to-day and ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Director/Accountant

General office administration duties
