Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care. About the Role As a Deskside Engineer, you will be the hands-on problem solver keeping Health NZ's digital workspaces running smoothly.
You will deploy, configure, and maintain technology that supports hospital teams and health workers across Aotearoa, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and ready when they're needed most. From troubleshooting day-to-day technical issues to implementing new solutions, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless operations across our digital environment.
Working closely with senior engineers and other technical specialists, you will have the opportunity to build your skills, contribute to service improvements, and make a real impact on the digital systems that support frontline healthcare delivery.
In addition, we are also looking for people to join our Digital Services on-call pool. This involves being part of a roster that provides after-hours support as required.About the Team/Service/ Location This role sits within Health NZ's Digital Operations team, which powers the systems that keep hospitals and health services running smoothly across the country.

About you You're a hands-on ICT professional who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and keeping technology running seamlessly.
You bring a solid foundation in IT operations and a genuine desire to grow your technical expertise in a fast-paced, meaningful environment.You will bring:Experience deploying, maintaining, and supporting IT services in a technical environmentA current New Zealand driver's licenceAt least 1 year of experience performing operational tasks, troubleshooting issues, and following technical standards and best practicesExposure to resolving technical problems, implementing solutions, and contributing to planning or deployment activitiesA proactive attitude and eagerness to learn, develop, and grow your technical skillsRelevant technical certifications (preferred but not required) and ITIL or service management certifications are a plusWorking for Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
