The Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring smooth operations by assisting chefs and kitchen staff. Responsibilities include washing dishes, cleaning work areas, and handling waste disposal.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleaning & Sanitizing:

Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently.

Ensure all kitchen areas (floors, work surfaces, sinks, storage areas) are kept clean and sanitized.

Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.

Waste Management:

Dispose of kitchen waste properly, following health and safety regulations.

Separate and recycle materials where required.

Stock & Storage Support:

Assist in unpacking, storing, and organizing deliveries.

Help with basic food prep tasks (peeling vegetables, fetching ingredients) when needed.

Equipment Maintenance:

Report broken or malfunctioning equipment to supervisors.

Assist in basic maintenance of kitchen tools and machinery.

Health & Safety Compliance:

Follow food hygiene and workplace safety regulations.

Wear appropriate protective clothing and use cleaning chemicals safely.

Team Support:

Assist chefs and kitchen staff with general tasks as required.

Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Skills & Requirements: No formal qualifications required (training provided).

Physical stamina (standing for long periods, lifting heavy items).

Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.

Basic understanding of hygiene and safety standards.

Team player with a positive attitude.
