Assistant Service Manager**

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, customer-focused **independent workshop** where no two days are the same.

You will need to have a strong mechanical background to step into this pivotal Assistant Service Manager role. This position is not suited to someone without hands-on mechanical or technical workshop experience. A solid understanding of workshop operations is essential.

Working closely with the owner and manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient day-to-day running of the business.

Your responsibilities will span customer service, workshop control, parts coordination, and technical support, with workshop leadership and technical credibility at the forefront.

**Day to day responsibilities**
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build trusted relationships with clients
  • Oversee daily workshop control, ensuring jobs are scheduled and completed efficiently
  • Support quoting, billing, and parts coordination to keep the operation running seamlessly
  • Apply strong mechanical and technical knowledge to support technicians and diagnose issues where required
  • Assist in team leadership, performance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced workshop environment
**About you**
  • A trade-qualified Automotive Mechanic/Auto Electrician **or** proven experience supporting technical teams
  • Proven experience working in an independent automotive workshop is highly desirable
  • Experience across multiple automotive brands
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to thrive in a high-performance environment
  • Clear, confident communication skills with both customers and team members
  • A drive to continuously learn and step up into leadership responsibilities
