Manager Clinical Records and Clinical Coding Rotorua Hospital and travel to Taupo HospitalPermanent, FulltimeMonday to FridayThe OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Manager for our Clinical Records and Clinical Coding teams who will be responsible for implementing, executing, and managing clinical recordkeeping processes throughout the organisation and oversee the Clinical Coding department.This person will be a part of our collaborative Clinical Quality Governance, Risk and Compliance department, leading the Clinical Records and Clinical Coding teams and able to influence the team structure and service development.
They will take pride in building the capability of the organisation’s records management and clinical coding to a high standard.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.Relevant Skills and Experience for the RoleStrong hospital management and administrative experience in the health sector of New Zealand.Good technical skills and computer use.Proven commitment to the validity and appropriateness of data.Years of life skills in communication and management and thorough knowledge of a team culture an advantage.Use of Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and computerised patient management systems.Time management skills with the ability to meet set timeframesOrganised, logical, and methodical planning and work processesAdaptable and responsive to service demands and those of the wider organisation.Innovative in initiating and implementing best practise strategies and to recognise the need for change.Commitment to a very high level of accuracy.Appreciation of and respect for: cultural differences, language barriers, disabilities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to generate effective and positive relationships with a wide range of people.The ability to maintain the Manager Clinical Records and Clinical Coding role with the desire to promote team commitment and shared responsibility both within the Clinical Records and Clinical Coding departments, and also the wider Lakes District community.Be familiar with relevant legislation / policies and procedure applicable to the role.
About the Team/Service/ LocationOur department consists of two Clinical Records Teams, one based in Rotorua and one in Taupo along with our Clinical Coding Team.
