Job Title: Landfill Spotter**

**Location:** Wellington City Council Landfill

**The Role:** As a Spotter at the Wellington City Council Landfill, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Vigilantly observing customers at the transfer station to detect any signs of potential attempts to enter the waste pit.
• Promptly sounding an alarm and informing the loader driver via radio in the event of any suspicious customer behaviour.
• Reporting all witnessed attempts to enter the waste pit to transfer station staff and documenting them in the daily log sheet at the end of each day.
• Reporting any other observed health and safety incidents to transfer station staff for internal safety reporting.

• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Access to a vehicle (or reliable transportation) to commute to and from work.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in radio communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Please note that there is no public transport, pedestrian, or cycle access up the road leading to our site, making personal transportation essential for this role.
