Welder/Fitter
Super Mario Construction Limited based in Remuera, Auckland, is looking for two welder/fitters to join our awesome team.
You will be expected to work at different sites throughout the Auckland region, a minimum of 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday as normal hours of work, and you may also be required to perform on Saturday as well. Please note this is a permanent full-time role and the hourly pay rate would be $28.00-$33.00 based on candidates' experience and skills.
Job Description for This Position- Fit, assemble and weld metal parts and subassemblies to fabricate production machines and other relevant equipment
- Study engineering drawings and specifications to determine appropriate materials, installation sequence, welding methods, and equipment settings.
- Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components on construction sites, including beams, columns, and braces, using cranes, hoists, and hand tools.
- Perform accurate on-site welding of structural steel in accordance with project specifications, industry codes, and safety requirements.
- Check and verify assembled and welded steel components for accuracy, alignment, and correct fit using precision measuring tools.
- Prepare steel materials for installation by cutting, grinding, drilling, and other necessary fabrication tasks.
- Work collaboratively with other trades workers and site supervisors to ensure safe and efficient installation processes.
- Provide a professional service in a timely manner, meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
- Display a positive and cooperative team attitude towards the role and colleagues.
- Comply with all company policies, site safety rules, and relevant health and safety regulations.
Key Requirements for Successful Applicants:
- Having 2-year experience in fabricating or welding operations.
- Relevant qualification or certificate is an advantage.
- Punctual and reliable with a positive can-do attitude will be key in this role
- Be physically fit as the job involves heavy lifting.
- A positive and willing attitude to learn and progress.
- Able to work with deadlines and schedules, and available to work weekends if required.
