Lead Roofer (5+ Years Experience Minimum) - Auckland
We are seeking an experienced Lead Roofer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the installation of long run iron roofing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing techniques, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring high standards of quality and safety on every job.
As a Lead Roofer, you will oversee and coordinate the roofing team on residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule.
The role is responsible for working with Project Manager to complete the day-to-day tasks for installing, roofing materials to the Metalhartt standard, complying with the building standards, guide / teach apprentice roofers where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, supervise, and train a team of roofers on-site, ensuring quality work and adherence to safety protocols.
- Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of long run iron roofing systems, ensuring compliance with relevant NZ building codes and standards.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure roofing systems are installed to the highest standards.
- Ensure that work is completed within the specified timelines and that materials and resources are used efficiently.
- Conduct site inspections and manage roofing projects from start to finish, including coordinating with project managers, clients, and other trades.
- Provide expert advice on roofing designs, materials, and techniques.
- Ensure that the team adheres to all safety guidelines and legislative requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders regarding project progress, changes, and issues.
- Perform on-site problem-solving and troubleshooting when required.
- Assist in the preparation of job estimates and material ordering as needed.
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in long run iron roofing installation and roofing systems.

- Reliable with a good work ethic & positive attitude

Your usual hours will be from 7.30am to 4.30pm, Monday - Friday. However, you will be expected to work as and when is necessary to meet the needs of the team / project at hand. Weekend work is occasionally offered to employee’s, Metalhartt does appreciate the help when needed.
Training:- Attend training as required.
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of roofing materials.
- Maintain an intermediate level of industry knowledge – production, styles, market trends, competitor activity.
