As a Qualified Marine Electrician, you will be responsible for the expert installation, meticulous maintenance, and precise repair of electrical systems on a diverse range of marine vessels. This will encompass comprehensive diagnostic work, advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring all electrical components and installations strictly comply with marine regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems and equipment on boats, yachts, and other marine craft.
- Diagnosing and meticulously troubleshooting intricate electrical faults and malfunctions.
- Performing routine inspections and proactive preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Working proficiently with various marine electrical components including sophisticated navigation systems, advanced communication systems, robust power generation units, and precise propulsion control systems.
- Ensuring all work strictly adheres to industry standards, best practices, and rigorous safety regulations.
- Accurately reading and interpreting detailed electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining clear, professional communication with clients and team members.
- Proven experience as a Qualified Marine Electrician is essential.
- Recognised trade qualification in electrical engineering or marine electronics (e.g., NZQA Level 4 Marine *Electrical, or equivalent international qualification).
- Comprehensive understanding of marine electrical systems, intricate wiring, and complex components.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret technical manuals and complex diagrams.
- Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with a keen eye for detail.
