Pay Rate: $25 – $32 per hour (based on skills and experience)

About the Role

Symrose Limited, operating a popular Indian restaurant in Christchurch, is seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team. This is a full-time role requiring a minimum of 30 hours per week.

• Examine foodstuffs to ensure quality and freshness.
• Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
• Prepare and cook authentic Indian dishes.
• Season and adjust flavors during cooking.
• Portion food, plate dishes, and add gravies, sauces, and garnishes.
• Store food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
• Prepare meals for customers with special dietary requirements.
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements (as needed).
• Train and guide other kitchen staff and apprentices.

• NZ Register Level 4 or higher relevant qualification OR at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Proven ability in Indian cuisine preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
