Chinese Cook Wanted
We are a well-established popular Chinese restaurant based in Gisborne. To enhance our team, we are now looking for a Chinese Cook to join our team. We are expecting someone who has a passion for food, attention to details, ability to multi tasks and be a proactive member of the team.
- Ideal candidates should have at least 2 years relevant work experience in the same field or industry, OR
- Have a relevant level 4 qualification or above (equivalent overseas qualification can be accepted)，Occupational Certificate can be accepted
The hourly pay rate is between $25.00-$26.00 depending on your personal experience and skills. The position is permanent and full-time (guaranteed minimum 30 hours/per week, roster from Monday to Sunday). The location of work will be in Auckland.
You are required to:
- Setting up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Checking ingredients to make sure the quality and freshness
- Preparing and Cooking Chinese food in various utensils and grillers
- Seasoning, portioning, adding sauces to the food during/after cooking
- Preparing food to meet client’s taste and dietary needs
- Arrange food on plates or wrap it to be taken away
- Storing and reserving food
- Assisting in planning menus, estimating food and labour costs
- Cleaning and restocking workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
- Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of machines before each run, to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Assisting with training and coordinating with junior cooks or kitchen hands, as requested by head chef or director.
