Maintenance Fitter - Te Kuiti
Crusader Meats is a family owned progressive meat company located in Benneydale, 45 kilometers south east of Te Kuiti. We are dedicated to providing high-quality products and services to our global and local clients.
We are looking for a motivated & skilled Maintenance Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of this plant by addressing equipment breakdowns and conducting necessary repairs.
This role is an integral part of our operation, and we require someone with a positive, can do attitude and someone who works extremely well within a team.
Other responsibilities include:- Preventative Maintenance to ensure the reliability of the processing plant
- Responding immediately to machinery breakdowns within the plant and implementing repair actions.
- Investigating and repairing faults within the equipment production line to prevent breakdowns and increase production.
- Liaising with the production team to ensure machinery is fixed in a timely manner and planning maintenance in accordance with production requirements.
- Carrying out scheduled overhauls.
- Previous experience as a maintenance fitter in the meat processing industry
- Be a team player with excellent communication skills
- Able to work on a rotating day shift – Mon to Fri and be available for callouts including some weekends
- A proactive attitude to make sure that production departments experience minimal down time due to engineering/maintenance requirements
- Strong organizational skills which complement the need to manage a variety of priorities and demands
- A clear understanding of mechanical equipment
- Have the ability to work under pressure and have excellent problem-solving skills
- Reliable and punctual
This position could also be available for an Apprentice Fitter with no experience. This is a permanent position with on call and after-hours requirements. Shifts hours are 10.5 hours per day, 5 days a week worked between the hours of 5.00 am and 9.30 pm (incl paid and unpaid breaks). The hourly rate will commence between $25 and $35 subject to skills, experience and qualifications.
