Farm maintenance and repairs - part time

We are looking for a reliable & experienced machinery maintenance person to assist us on our family owned and operated farm near Duntroon, North Otago.

We run a mixed cropping, livestock and dairy grazing enterprise. We also have a stand alone seed business which involves producing, processing and retailing various seed crops to farmers throughout NZ.

Hours:

• 3–4 days per week (could be full time for the right person)
• Additional work will be required during harvest and winter grazing periods

Duties include:

• Machinery operation (tractors and implements, trucks, irrigators)
• Machinery and building repairs and maintenance
• General farm repairs and maintenance
• Seed processing (fork lift operation, seed cleaning, bagging up seed)
• Feeding cattle

Essential skills/qualifications:

• Practical, hands-on skills, mechanically minded and a good work ethic
• Full drivers license
• NZ resident or hold a valid NZ work visa
• Ability to work independently

Preferred skills/qualifications:

• Class 2 license essential (Class 4 preferred) we are more than happy to support and fund the right applicant through this process
• Have a trades background
