The Role
We are looking for a permanent full-time Carpenter to join our skilled and passionate team. You will play a hands-on role in crafting and installing a range of custom woodwork and joinery across residential projects throughout the Wellington Region.
You’ll be working closely with our designers and fabricators to ensure all work meets our high standards for quality, safety, and aesthetics. Your craftsmanship will bring to life everything from kitchen cabinetry and fittings to structural framework and finishing elements.
Benefits- Wages - $30-$35/hour
- Working Hours - Min 30 hrs/week
- Level 4- Trade Certificate or Diploma is required.
- OR At least three years of relevant experience is required.
Job Duties
Constructs and installs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, and cuts, shapes and fits timber parts to form structures and fittings.
Tasks Include: Study drawings and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures
Order and select timbers and materials; prepare accurate layoutsCut and assemble materials with precision
Erect framework and roof structures; lay sub-flooring and floorboards
Verify trueness and stability of structures
Nail fascia panels, sheathe roofs, and fit exterior wall cladding and frames
Assemble wood to form structures and fittings ready for installation
Cut wood joints; construct concrete formwork as needed
Repair or restore existing fittings
Work with additional materials such as plastic laminates, Perspex, and metals
