Health Care Assistant - Ward M3 (Inpatient Renal Ward)We are seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our ward M3 team at Health New Zealand, Waikato. The successful applicant will be expected to work rostered rotating shifts. About the RoleThis role will support our busy inpatient renal nursing team. In this vital role you will work under the supervision of registered nurses to provide support, assist patients with activities of daily living and encourage independence.Key responsibilities of the role:Have excellent verbal communication and time-management skillsImplementation of documented care plan to improve patient outcomeApplying cultural safety principles in the workplaceCarrying out assigned tasks and activities such as but not limited to ordering, cleaning and restocking required for service delivery.Contribute to quality improvement practices within the ward, such as fall prevention, pressure area management, infection prevention and control guidelines and applying safe manual handling techniques.

About the ServiceOur renal inpatient ward (M3) is a 16 bedded ward that provides treatment and supportive care for our renal inpatient population from across the midland region. Specialising in the management of patients with acute and chronic kidney disease.Most renal conditions are of a chronic nature therefore our aim is to maximise patient’s independence, encourage them to exercise their choice over treatment options and regain/retain control over their lives.
