Services provided include paediatric inpatient medical and surgical care, as well as child protection service.As the Specialist Clinical Pharmacist in Paediatrics, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy services across our paediatric inpatient wards and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective care, ensuring optimal medication management and counselling for some of our most vulnerable children and their whaanau.This role offers opportunities to:Lead and develop paediatric pharmacy servicesProvide specialist advice to clinicians in both inpatient and outpatient settingsSupport antimicrobial stewardship and clinical governance initiativesMentor and educate rotational pharmacists and other healthcare professionalsContribute to quality improvement and research projectsWe are looking for a pharmacist who is/has:At least 5 years of hospital experience overall, and at least 2-3 years of experience in PaediatricsRelevant postgraduate qualifications at minimum, working towards postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent; Pharmacist PrescriberPatient-focused, enthusiastic and able to lead self, people and teamsEffective communicator with sound problem-solving skillsSupportive team player and able to teach and train other pharmacy staff and studentsDemonstrates excellent clinical leadership capability with a keen interest and experience in quality improvement and service developmentNew Zealand Registered Pharmacist with current APC or eligibility to obtain oneAble to work flexible hours (such as participating in our extended service hours, oncall and weekend rosters)About us:Middlemore Hospital is a large and progressive tertiary hospital located in South Auckland and is unique in terms of the diverse, high-needs population we serve.
