Systems Engineer - Auckland

Hands-on systems and infrastructure support across server and network tech

• Empower teams with Microsoft 365 and automation via PowerShell

Our client is a leading provider of education and training services in New Zealand, committed to supporting workforce capability and transformation. With a strong digital strategy and collaborative culture, they're working on modernising systems and security frameworks.

You'll be responsible for supporting, maintaining and improving infrastructure, systems, and applications. You'll also contribute to strengthening their cybersecurity posture and provide advanced support to internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Administer physical and virtual server environments
• Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure including firewalls, routers and switches
• Provide 2nd/3rd level support for end users and business applications
• Implement and maintain security protocols and systems
• Enhance IAM with SSO, SCIM, and access centralisation
• Document procedures and maintain system hygiene
• Assist with ICT projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• 5+ years in a Systems Engineer role
• Microsoft and Azure certifications (MCSE, MCP preferred)
• Deep experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows OS, Autopilot
• Strong skills in PowerShell scripting and server virtualisation
• Understanding of backup technologies like Veeam or Datto
• Familiarity with ITSM tools (Freshservice desirable)
• Knowledge of networking and security frameworks
• Excellent documentation and problem-solving skills
