Industries are also critical in providing essential services for the operation of the prison as well as meaningful support to the community.At Rolleston Prison, we have an exciting opportunity lead a team of dedicated instructors across several industry areas including asset maintenance, horticulture as well as warehousing and stores.Mōu | About you Experience, skills and knowledge to lead and develop a team are essential for this role.
Your key areas of focus would be to plan and schedule work, delegating tasks and providing support, training and guidance for ongoing staff development as well as being responsible for the overall running of these areas of industry within a busy prison.Building and maintaining strong relationships with commercial partners and overseeing training and qualifications for the tāne in our management are also key responsibilities that are essential elements you will be responsible for.
Ultimately, we are seeking a strong leader and ideally is that you might have a strength or a background in one or more of the industry areas outlined above.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceTo be successful in the role you will also be able to demonstrate the following:Strong leadership skills and experience managing teamsExcellent relationship skills, including commercial relationshipsHighly developed administration and verbal communication skillsExperience in an adult learning or training environmentThe ability to think critically, be innovative, embrace and drive changeAn understanding of our Hōkai Rangi strategy and how this is appliedStrong administrative skills with excellent priortisation and time managementSound knowledge and ability across the MS Office Suite (including, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel etc)Current and clean full driver's licenseOur Industries operate 7 days a week.
The hours of work for this role will be Monday to Friday between 6am- 6pm. Public Holidays with the possibility of some overtime or call-outs may be required.This role includes the same training and process as our Corrections Officers, which will include a medical, drug test and be subject to a Police Vet with exception to the Clean Slate (this means all if any prior convictions will be shown).
- $102,577 per annum across 4 levels.
