Look no further, we are currently seeking a Kairaranga a-Whānau to join our Tauranga West Site.To be successful in this role, you will need to bring your well-developed relationship building skills to build strong networks with local Iwi, Marae, and community.
Another key attribute that you will be sharing is your good communication skills, specifically in Te Reo Māori both verbally and written. Proven negotiation and advocacy skills at a senior level will be advantageous, as well as strong problem solving, and decision-making skills.
You will also be supported in the role by other Kairaranga a-Whānau within Lower South and other regions throughout Aotearoa. Mō te tūnga | About the roleFor this exciting role, working closely with Oranga Tamariki social Workers and Coordinators, the Kairaranga a-Whānau will assist in identifying whānau, hapū and iwi relationships for tamariki and rangatahi.
You will also be developing and maintaining relationships with tangata whenua and other key members of cultural groups. You will also be providing support in building cultural capability by working in partnership with the Tauranga West Site Manager and Site Leadership team.

Another big part of your role will include convening and facilitating hui-a-whānau, especially prior to Family Group Conferences.
