About the RoleThe purpose of this position is to safely and efficiently collect blood and other specimens as requested by an authorized medical referrer. This is an opportunity to join our self-motivated Laboratory team who are highly patient focused.The primary function of this position is to:Assist in the receipt, documentation, registration, processing, testing and/or reporting of all specimens, including those referred to other laboratories, as required by authorised policies and protocolsPerform other technical and operational duties normally expected of a Medical Laboratory Technician, for the efficient and effective operations of the Pathology Service.
About the LocationFor more information on living and working in Northland, click here About youQPT (Qualified Phlebotomist Technician) or QMLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)Work experience as a phlebotomistProven ability to rapidly learn new knowledge and skills.A basic understanding of health/illness and prevention of infection.A basic understanding of filing systems.Previous experience within a Healthcare setting.Whilst not essential to apply, recent phlebotomy experience in a Medical Laboratory is desirable.
