About the role:
As a Kaitiaki at our Te Awa, Napier village, you’ll play an important role in supporting the safest, healthiest and most enjoyable lifestyle possible for our Care Centre residents. You’ll be part of a close-knit team, focused on person-centred care and enhancing the wellbeing of every resident.We know that this role makes a difference - our residents love having someone there whose job is to spend time with them and put a smile on their face.
Typical duties include:
- Supporting residents with meals and drinks, including one-on-one help where needed
- Assisting residents to follow their mobility therapy plans (e.g., walking, gentle exercise)
- Providing emotional support to residents who may feel anxious, isolated or confused
- Helping maintain a safe environment, especially for those at risk of falling
- Supporting individual and small group activities alongside Diversional and Recreational Therapists
- Keeping accurate progress notes and alerting clinical staff to any concerns
This is a permanent part-time role, working a roster of – Monday, Tuesday and Sunday, 11.30am to 8.00pm.
You don’t need any previous experience — just the right attitude and a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives. We’ll provide full training to get you started.
