Welder – Full-Time

• About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Welder to join our team at True Steel, a trusted steel fabrication business known for high-quality workmanship and reliable service. You will be responsible for performing high-standard welding on a range of steel components and structures.

• Key Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret welding and fabrication drawings
• Perform MIG, TIG, or ARC welding to required specifications
• Prepare and weld steel components for structural and general use
• Inspect welds for quality, strength, and alignment
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and dressing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
• Maintain and care for welding tools and equipment
• Always follow health and safety procedures

• Skills and Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a welder
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, ARC welding
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Be comfortable working at heights and on ladders
• Good communication and time management skills

• Minimum Requirements:
• Must be able to pass a weld test
• Physically fit, competent in handling heavy tooling and confident around heavy loads and machinery
• Must comply with New Zealand workplace health and safety standards
• Candidates must have the right to work in New Zealand.
• Consent to pre-employment and post-employment random drug testing
• Be of good character and standing
