We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join our dynamic team as a Shift Supervisor.
About the role
As a confident and professional manager, you will lead a skilled team of drivers, developing and implementing effective strategies to ensure the timely collection and delivery of milk while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
With a firm but fair approach, you'll coordinate milk collection and dispatch using cutting-edge technology. You'll be the kind of leader who communicates clearly, acts decisively under pressure, and builds trust through empathy and support.
You'll need to think on your feet, stay organised, and be proactive about planning and problem-solving — all while keeping people at the heart of what you do.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Coaching, guiding, and supporting drivers in a professional, empathetic manner
- Proactively and promptly addressing operational and performance challenges as they arise
- Managing staff rosters, absenteeism, and team meetings
- Strategically allocating runs and optimising driver assignments for maximum efficiency
- Monitoring collections and proactively resolving potential problems
- Responding to supplier and customer queries
- Organising and allocating resources to meet collection expectations
Successful applicants will possess:
- Excellent communication skills with a talent for building and maintaining relationships
- Proven experience leading people, ideally within logistics or transport
- Previous experience as a dispatcher, driver, or administrator in the industry
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving ability and a methodical approach to following systems and procedures
- Technologically confident – proficient with Microsoft Office (essential), eROAD (an advantage)
- A self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively
