Woolworths is a household name providing food for kiwis all over New Zealand and we are proud to cater to those keeping our food chain running through our Café Whanaungatanga located on site at the Palmerston North Distribution Centre. Here we offer tasty, wholesome meals that our customers can order and eat in a short time frame before their next shift starts, as well as, tempting savoury and sweet cabinet options, and catering for functions.
You will enjoy working in a large modern and well-equipped kitchen and plenty of opportunity for you to contribute to the café’s success and make your mark by sharing your creative and innovative food to keep offerings exciting and seasonal.Regular theme days also add a bit of fun and creativity to the role.
To be successful you will need to:- have experience in a similar café environment offering appetising hot and cold cabinet options
- be able to cater for varied dietary requirements
- monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation
- implement NZ Food Control and safety regulations
- maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment
- be able to problem solve, multitask, and work under pressure
- operate EFTPOS and POS machine with a smile, and cash-up at end of shift
- keep the kitchen clean and doing dishes
- be a reliable and flexible team player
The normal hours for this position would be: Monday – Thursday, 5.00am – 1.30pm
