Who are we?

Match Hospitality in Christchurch has two established venues - Kaiser Brew Garden and The Loft Bar. We are currently underway with our third venue and are looking for key staff members to join our growing team!

Positions: Duty Managers

We are looking for up to five experienced hospitality “all-rounders” to join us as hands-on Duty Managers. We are looking for people that bring a bright, positive energy that can excite and motivate a team and exceed guests’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and working with the front of house, bar, and kitchen team on a daily basis.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the Host Responsibility Guidelines and being able to work solo if required, covering all aspects of the venue from bar service to guest engagement, reservations and host responsibilities.
  • Implementing the training and development plans for entry level team members.
  • Independently opening, running and closing the venue and taking responsibility for staff and guests whilst the venue is open and operating.
  • Adhering to health and safety protocols and licensing requirements at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant hospitality industry experience in a comparable role.
  • Experience with reservation systems and integrated POS systems, including adjustments and reporting.
  • Intermediate bartending skills with cocktail experience is essential.
  • Barista skills.
  • A valid LCQ and DM license or currently working towards this.
  • Experience running the kitchen pass throughout service.
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required. We are open 7 days a week, all year round.
  • Shifts do change depending on function or event requirements and can include early mornings (5am starts) and late nights (venue licensed until 3am).
  • Must be fully available over the months of November to January.

What we offer:

Permanent position with a minimum 30 hours a week. May be required to work more, determined by bookings, events and functions. Flexible roster to reflect this. Pay rate from $25-28 depending on experience. Place of work - Christchurch.
