In practice it is a largely nurse-led service supported by contracted providers from a range of clinical practice areas including GPs, dentists and pharmacists.There is also a strong focus on supporting transitions back into the community on release from prison and ensuring engagement with community health care providers.As a Pae Ora leader you will be contributing to improved health outcomes as well as the organisations wider priorities of reducing reoffending, improving public safety and reducing the overrepresentation of Māori in the corrections system.
Ngā kawenga | About the roleAra Poutama Aotearoa is seeking a Health Centre Manager for Christchurch Men's Prison.The Health Centre Manager is a statutory role that is primarily responsible for ensuring the provision of health care and treatment for people in our care.
The Health Centre Manager has overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, clinical governance activities, and resource management of health services in their prison.
They oversee and manage health centre staff competence and compliance with policy, monitor for quality improvement and lead implementation of new policies and initiatives.
The Health Centre Manager is part of a national network of health leaders who collectively drive best practice and continuous improvement.
Additionally, as a member of the regional Pae Ora leadership team the Health Centre Manager contributes to achievement of wider health and organisational priorities.He kōrero mōu/ About youYou will be a NZ registered nurse with extensive leadership experience in a health setting and ideally a relevant post-graduate qualification.
You will bring a growth mindset and be able to build and maintain a work environment that values diversity and innovation.You will be an advanced communicator who is resilient, organised, and have an eye for quality, as you develop and maintain innovative health services in partnership with custodial services.
