Speech Language Therapist / Speech Pathologist
We are looking for a Senior Speech Language Therapist with advanced skills in the assessment and management of communication and swallowing impairments. Experience and competencies in FEES and VFSS are essential. You will be able to work autonomously, as well as be part of a multi-disciplinary and wider Speech Language Therapy team.
You will be required to work across services, and you will need to be flexible to support the SLT team, where needed. Your role will involve supporting other SLTs to achieve their clinical competencies and will include provision of supervision and an element of leadership.
Important SkillsAs the ideal person for this role you will have the following skills and attributes:New Zealand approved qualification to practice speech and language therapyMembership with NZSTA with a current Annual Practicing Certificate5 years minimum post qualification clinical experience working with adults, as a speech language therapistA minimum of Level 3 FEES and VFSExperience with acute dysphagia patientsAn understanding of bicultural issues and commitment to the Treaty of WaitangiExperience in supporting/supervising others, driving service development and implementing change/improvementsAbility to work collaboratively with a range of professional groups in a multidisciplinary settingEffective time management, prioritisation and organisation skillsDrive, energy, initiative with excellent communication, interpersonal skillsWorking at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
