Casual positions

Do you have a passion for helping others, and would enjoy putting a smile on our residents faces by serving amazing meals? Are you looking for a casual opportunity to work around life’s other commitments? We would love to hear from you!

We have opportunities for reliable and energetic individuals with friendly can-do attitudes to join our kitchen team based at Rangiura Resthome in Putaruru where we cater for around 70 residents daily. Come and help us deliver the best food service in the industry!

The ideal candidates will:
  • support our talented chefs with food preparation, baking
  • set up tables and trolleys for meals.
  • assist with service, keep the kitchen clean, and do dishes.
  • provide service in the small onsite café.
  • be able to work safely in an industrial kitchen with large hot pots and trays.
  • be comfortable entering residents’ rooms when required to provide service.
  • be an exceptional team player with a flexible, committed, can-do attitude.
  • be resilient and able to work under pressure in a busy and dynamic environment.
  • be confident to work unsupervised as the last part of the evening shift is cleaning up and closing the kitchen after the chef has left for the day.

These positions work across 7 days covering a variety of shifts between 6am and 9pm. We are seeking casual staff to cover for staff leave and gaps on the roster. If you are only available on certain days or at certain times, please let us know in your application and we’ll see if we can make that work.

Previous kitchen experience is not required as training will be provided to someone who possesses the right attitude and motivation.
