Assistant Centre Manager (ECE)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Centre Manager to join our client’s dedicated team. This leadership role offers the opportunity to support the holistic development of Tamariki by delivering a high-quality learning programme and working closely with the teaching team and Centre Manager to ensure excellence in education and care.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (Teaching)
  • A minimum of 5 years of New Zealand experience delivering ECE programmes
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Demonstrated an ability to support and mentor teaching staff
Knowledge
  • ECE regulations, the Code of Ethics, and Child Development
  • The Practising Teacher Criteria, teacher registration, and induction/mentoring processes
  • Knowledge of Tikanga Maori, Te Reo Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi will be beneficial
  • Understanding of the Vulnerable Children Act and the Privacy Act

  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Provide professional leadership to the teaching team
  • Strong administrative and report writing capabilities
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Confident working both independently and collaboratively
  • High cultural competency with the ability to engage positively with tamariki, whanau, and professionals
