About Us
Birthright Hawke’s Bay provides social services and early childhood education across the region. Our centres are warm, inclusive, and whanau centric — places where tamariki feel safe, supported, and excited to learn each day.We’re looking for a dedicated Teacher Aide to join our team and help create an environment filled with care, connection, and learning.
What You’ll Be DoingAs a Teacher Aide, you’ll support our teaching team with:
- Assisting tamariki during daily activities and routines
- Helping with food preparation
- Centre cleaning and upkeep
- Contributing a nurturing, calm, and homely learning environment
- Contributing to the wellbeing and development of all children
What We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you are:- Positive, enthusiastic, and great with tamariki
- Reliable, flexible, and a supportive team player
- Experienced with children (a bonus, but not essential!)
- Experienced with cooking and food preparation
- A warm communicator who builds trusting relationships with whanau and colleagues
- Calm, caring, and able to contribute to a peaceful centre environment
- Keen to learn, grow, and take part in ongoing development
- Supportive, close-knit team
- Permanent, part-time role – 20 hours per week (between 9am–3:30pm)
- 10 days paid sick leave + your birthday off (yes, fully paid!)
- Two-week paid shutdown over Christmas/New Year
