An opportunity has arisen for a junior/intermediate Estimator to join our team. You will be part of our estimating/QS team, obtaining supplier pricing, plan measurement, building rates and part of the overall process in providing bids for upcoming projects.

We work in a niche market where speed and accuracy is key!

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Gathering information on proposals and specifications to calculate costs for Project/Service delivery
  • Work closely with our QS and Director to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements and costs
  • Evaluate financial implications, such as materials, labour and time needed, to provide a detailed end-to-end estimate of a project
  • Maintain close relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure accurate cost estimate and potential savings
  • Liaise with Contractors including but not limited to; acquiring fixed pricing from subs for all aspects of projects, pre contract award negotiations, sub contract agreements / sub PO’s, assessing sub payment claims / invoices, assessing sub variations etc.
  • Liaise with Suppliers including but not limited to; obtaining fixed pricing for materials, obtaining fixed pricing and lead times for specialist materials, PO’s on contract award, procurement of specialist items, review of supplier invoices to ensure rates are adhered to etc.
  • Plan measurement and comparison.
  • Specification understanding and providing clarification.
  • Build up of rates and management of price books.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Have an amazing can do attuite and be a team player!
  • Enjoy a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Minimum of 2 years on the job experience in Construction and Civil Infrastructure tendering
  • Ideally have a relevant diploma/degree
  • Ability to manage cost analysis, budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Experience in procurement, using different project management and estimating software
  • Good level of experience working with MS Office
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and financial knowledge, and attention to detail
