Our clients live with a wide range of challenges through to achieving amazing accomplishments! Sometimes they need supports because they are unwell, recovering from an injury or just needing a bit more help. Sometimes they need a companion or 'their person' to help them live their life and achieve their goals!

We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and committed support worker to work within a family home to support our client, who is a tetraplegic and requires 24-hour support.

Desired Support Worker:

• Qualification in Level 3 or 4 healthcare disability support would be desired, but L2, L3 and L4 health qualification is essential
• Experience with hospital-level care.
• If you have no health qualification your application may not be considered
• Able to commit to our client for an extended period.
• Competency in manual handling & equipment.
• Competency in Medication Administration.
• Able to commit to the shifts and available to pick up additional when required.
• Must have your own transport with a clean and valid Restricted/Full driver's license.

• Transferring via ceiling hoist with a 2nd support worker.
• Completing passive exercises, supporting repositioning, personal care and home help.
• Attending to catheter, stoma care and wound care.
• You will be our client's arms and legs; you need to be a quick learner, confident, and able to follow directions from our client.
• Driving a large wheelchair-accessible vehicle if and when required.

Shifts:

• Week 1:
• Saturday 08:00
• 11:00 and Sunday 16:00
• 23:00, followed by the sleepover 23:00
• 07:00 until Monday morning.
• Week 2:
• Friday 15:00
• 19:00, Saturday 08:00-11:00 and 15:00-22:30, Sunday 09:00-11:00 and 16:00
• 23:00, followed by the sleepover 23:00
• 07:00 until Monday morning.

What we can offer you:

• Hourly rate up to $30.10 (depending on your qualifications).
• Opportunity to meet the client after the succession of your interview and references to ensure it's the appropriate fit for both you and the client.
• Support to complete your qualifications if you do not already hold your level 4 certificate.
• Orientation to the shifts alongside the client's experienced team members and additional paid online and practical training.
• Time and kilometre's paid to travel to and from work.
• You will receive 49.5 hours per fortnight (including sleepovers) and the ability to pick up additional hours to cover annual and sick leave and optionally work with other clients.
• Free access to EAP services and our well-being practitioner.
• Access to a work phone if required.
