Drill Operator - Geotechnical

Due to increased workloads and continued growth we are looking to expand our drilling team to service our clients throughout the Central North Island. We are looking for Geotechnical Drillers or Offsiders to operate or off-side / assist a tractor mounted and track mounted drilling rig, track mounted sonic rig or operate a CPT rig.

To apply for this position you will have:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to problem solve
• A minimum class 2 truck licence (Class 4 Preferred)
• Ideally some experience in Rotary Drilling, Sonic Drilling or CPT testing or have worked in a similar industry (Construction) with Mechanical experience
• Excavator operating experience would be ideal

This is a pretty unique position and some of your day to day responsibilities will include:

• Geotechnical and Environmental Investigations consisting of solid and hollow flight augering, Rotary Mud Drilling, Rotary Coring, Sonic Drilling.
• In-Situ Testing comprising of Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) and Push Tube Sampling.
• Operating a CPT rig to carry our core penetration testing.
• General Maintenance's and daily rig pre-start checks.
• Preparation of daily drill records.
• Some weekend work and working away will be required (Project Specific).
