Full-Time Permanent Position as Cook at The Orchard Thieves Pizza Parkvale
Salary: NZD $ 25 - 31/- per hour
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

We are looking for cooks who sepcilize in making Bollywood Flavour Sauces, dishes and curries like Butter Chicken. Butter Paneer, Chilly Paneer, Chiken Angara, Chilly Chicken, Khurchan Chicken, Khurchan Paneer, Makhani Kukad (Chicken), Makhni Paneer, Murg Malai Tikka, Paneer Malai Tikka, Paneer Angara, Peri Peri Paneer, Tandoori Chicken, Tandoori Paneer and other Indian/Bollywood Flavours, curries and sauce.
Please Note: These poitions are full-time, permanent position.
As a Cook your responsibilities will include- Preparation of Bollywood/Indian Flavour curries, Sauces and dishes as in the menu (https://www.theorchardthieves.co.nz/menu/ )
- Bollywood/Indian based marination’s
- Indian flavoured marinated chicken tenders and tikkas including Marinated chicken wings and its cooking
- Bollywood/Indian flavoured Sauces and dips
- Bollywood/Indian flavoured Tandoori toppings for Pizzas
- Bollywood/Indian flavoured Paneer based toppings of Pizzas
- Slow smoked chicken wings and chicken breast for Indian flavoured pizza toppings.
- Indian based gravies to formulate sauce and swirls
- Setting kitchen up for busy periods
- Setting kitchen up for busy periods
- Operates cooking equipment such as grills, deep fryers, ovens and microwave
- Portioning food, placing it on pizza, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Ensuring stock is rotated to minimize wastage and kept at correct temperatures
- Stocks and replenishes food supplies and ingredients
- Follows health and safety regulations, and maintains a clean and hygienic work environment
- Washing, cutting, measuring and mixing foods for cooking
- Cleaning food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils
- Ordering stock and checking goods on arrival
- Maintain Hygiene standards in Kitchen
- Freeze and preserve foods
- Ensure all kitchen equipment are tidy & good in condition
- Maintain food preparation areas to keep up with the food safety standards.
Requirements:
- Age 18 years or older.
- Qualification in Cookery (NZ Register Level 4 qualification or it's equivalent overseas qualification) OR Three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications
- Knowledge in making Bollywood Flavour Sauces, dishes and curries
- Ability to work in a Multicultural Environment.
- Motivational and leadership skills.
- Team player and ability to work competently under pressure.
- Reliable and flexible to change.
Please note, this is a full-time position with roster/split shifts, including weekends. Applicant should be available as per the roster shifts including weekends.
Although experience is preferred, it is not essential.
