This role will find you working alongside and leading a team consistingof: SMO, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Registered and Enrolled Nurses, MentalHealth Assistants, Social work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, PukengaAtawhai and House keeper.
We are adynamic and cohesive team that strives to make a real difference, discoveringand developing the strengths of our tāngata whaiora with the goal of optimumhealth and potential placement into a residential setting.This key position involves managing the operational andclinical functions of a clinical inpatient unit working in collaboration withthe multi-disciplinary teams across the Specialist Mental Health Service.In this role, you will also be responsible for:Workingclosely alongside other key leadership positions.
This will include recruitmentof staff (nursing, allied health and mental health workforces), development ofrelevant policies and procedures and implementing the identified Model of care.Developingand supporting a positive team culture where care is collaborative, inclusive,and multi-disciplinary.Providingday to day clinical and operational leadership, ensuring high quality standardsof consumer care.About YouTo be successful in this role you with be a Senior RegisteredNurse with a Mental Health scope of practice.
Ideally you will have recentexperience working within a clinical leadership role within Forensic MentalHealth or Specialist Mental Health Services and you will have excellentclinical skills, as well as an ability to ensure financial and operationalobjectives are carried out in line with the vision of Te Whatu Ora.You will be a natural leader and therefore you will be anexpert at developing and extending nursing practice, carrying out performanceappraisals, auditing, quality improvement and providing overall clinicalexpertise.
An expert in your field, you will further promote a high standard ofconsistent professional nursing practice that is contemporary, and patientfocused.Skillsand experienceRegistered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a current APC and mental health scope of practice Experience working within Forensic Mental Health or Specialist Mental Health servicesMinimum of 3 years of leadership experience including experience in the recruitment of staff (desirable)Have a relevant post graduate qualification, or be on the pathway to securing one (desirable)Possess a depth of clinical nursing knowledge and leadership abilityPositive, self-motivated, flexible and solutions-focused mindset and experience in supporting change processes.Be an excellent communicator and a natural people personImpeccable time-management skills and process drivenExperience in training and supporting the development of staff Exceptional communication and relationship building skills across all disciplines and a variety of teams (i.e.
