Driller - Auckland - ref. u93611315

The roles are primarily Auckland-based, but the successful applicants will be required to travel around New Zealand as per projects requirements and we would be open to discussing FIFO options for people not based in Auckland who have the right experience.

• Undertake and lead drilling and other geotechnical on-site construction activities.
• Maintaining, managing and servicing drilling equipment.
• Keep up to date with new drilling technologies.
• Maintain high Health & Safety standards and ensure others on site adhere to good Health & Safety practices.
• Managing Health & Safety paperwork, drill logs, installation records, daily briefings and incident reports.
• Ensure any actions that may impact the environment is reported to your supervisor and / or acted immediately.

• 3+ years experience as a driller for an anchoring, piling or slope stabilisation company
• Experience operating tracked crawler drill rigs or excavator drill rigs for geotechnical construction
• Full, clean Class 1 driver license with W,T,R endorsement
• New Zealand Residency or valid work visa
• Be physically fit.
• Demonstrate a good track record in technical delivery and paperwork
• Good attitude toward Health and Safety
• Good communication skills

Preferable skills and experience:

• Experience in use of various drilling techniques for New Zealand ground conditions (different casing systems, CFA, grout flush etc.)
• Ability to complete basic mark out on of installation locations from drawings and are familiar with use of laser levels and basic survey tools
• Experience in steel fixing & shotcrete application would be seen as beneficial.
• IRATA, IRAANZ, EWP or Forklift trade certificates would be advantageous but not essential.
• First aid and site safe/construct safe qualifications preferred but not essential.
