About the RoleJoin our friendly and supportive laboratory team as a Senior Scientist, leading the Point of Care Testing (POCT) service and supporting clinical services across the Waikato district.In this role, you will provide oversight and guidance within a small, collaborative team, applying your medical laboratory expertise to develop and maintain the POCT service.

Responsibilities include future service planning, mentoring team members, liaising with clinical stakeholders, overseeing equipment maintenance, validating new devices, training POCT users, troubleshooting issues, conducting audits, preparing reports, and supporting competency and quality assurance activities.

About the ServiceThe POCT Coordinators are based within the modern laboratory at Waikato Hospital and also provide support to the four smaller hospital laboratories within the Waikato region, regularly travelling to clinical areas and equipment locations to deliver onsite assistance and support.
